(Note from Mom: Sammie does not know that Mama's going to NY for a week beginning Monday, so there's even less chance of filling out the new bloggie -but Dad's on vacay all next week, so Sammie's got company! A Mini-Vacay!

Mom and Dad loaded me in the car with the grandpeeps late on Tuesday in a driving rain. After a couple of hours, the rain turned into white things coming down. Then, about three long hours later, I got to sleep with Mom and Dad on their bed!!! In the morning, the sun shone brightly and I got to go out. Guess what? It was coooollddd and there was fluffy powdery clouds covering the ground! Did I ever have a great time in this yummy thing called snow. I got to gallop in it, search for squirrels and hunt for gophers. I got to play with the grandpeeps, Mom and Dad, who attached weird webbed things on their feet. And, there were other doggies. Sometimes pine branches dumped their loads on my head - Woof! I had a pawsome, pawsome time and did not want to go back in that car and go home!

Surprise!

I'm running as fast as I can to tell you that I'm going on a trip! A shorty - just for Tuesday and Wednesday, but I am so excited! When I get back, I'll tell you all about it! WoofHoo!!!! And I also just want to say how great I think you bloggers are out there - what a show you all put on - with the contests and awards! Me and my peeps are always excited by what's happening out there. And YOUR peeps ain't bad either - three woofs go out to them all!!!!

Honest Blog!

Ten honest things about me:

1. I'm a rescue girl doggie.

2. I had a really bad case of kidney disease when I met my forever family.

3. If my peeps leave a bathroom wastebasket unguarded when they are gone, I'll take everything out, if there's something in there, and chew it up. (they rarely forget anymore, tho)

4. I get peas and carrots with my kibble - yum!

5. I heard my mom refer to this one really bad habit of mine as "copraphagia."

6. I bark a lot - loudly and in an obnoxiously ear-piercing yelp I've been practicing - at strangers - at the park, at my home, from the car. It's a very effective noise that I've worked on for a long time now. It keeps the weirdos away from my peeps.

7. I really try hard at obedience, but in all HONESTY, it's the treats I'm after.

8. I'm only allowed on one couch in the house, but in the mornings, I will jump on my peeps' bed to say good morning.

9. I eat the foul, furry thing's food whenever I can possibly get it.

10. I don't have a dog door, so I like to play a little game. When I want some attention, I ask to go out. When I spy mom or dad (through the glass doors), sit down comfortably to read or work, I immediately squeek to come in again. I never ask to come in unless they are occupied with something unimportant.

Okay! Time to pass this on to some of my friends!

Sunday Park Discoveries - Mud Puddle Sam - Again!

Has it EVER been a busy day! First, Mom and Dad actually took me to a fun match again! Exhausting! For being such a good girl, I was rewarded with visits to two of my fave parks this afternoon! At Marinwood, I got to chase my kong over the fence, which I really love to do, although I'd never do it on command for obedience heehee! Then guess what? I found another mud puddle. A huge one - all before my peeps could get me out of it! Then, because there's a creek by the path, I guess they decided I could bathe off all the mud in the stream when we crossed it! I just lay down in the cool mud and hung out. I tried to get a couple of other dogs that came by to join me, but their folks tsked tsked the idea. Bummer.

Finally, I chased the kong some more near the squirrel hide-out on the way back to the car. Little did I know, as we drove away, that my peeps were about to take me to McInnis to hang out with my pals there! What a happy day for me! There's Olivia and Wesley and me getting treats from my dad - yum! Hope you all had a good weekend. We left just as the sky dropped a bunch of big drops. So glad we're finally getting some rain - I adore wet anything.

Confession...

We have another member of the family. I haven't exposed her identity because I'm not real nice to her. Then again, she's not real nice to me. I try and try to play with her, but she is not a dog. When I first found my forever family, I thought she was a dog who dug playing. But she is not a dog and she really doesn't understand my ideals in the art of play. But lately, I've been encouraged! She has started to get the idea that I don't want to hurt her; that I just want to play. So sometimes now, she checks me out when she comes in at the end of the day and I just let her hang out without bugging her. Only tonight, she taunted me. See the evidence, above. Her name is Ozzie. You'll probably be seeing more of her.

Cow Palace...

Well, I can't believe this, but I had a really good time at the Cow Palace fun match! Unfortunately, my dad couldn't take too many pictures because I kept trying to run to him at compromising times. Then he went MIA. That was the only problem! Otherwise, I did my novice routine just great! Then I did my sits and downs and only me and another doggie did it nice and cleanly for the whole time. Mom is so proud of me and I got a LOT of treats and goodies after! I'm stuffed and need a walk now, so Mom and Daddy are going to take me for a hike. They aren't watching the super bowl (or most of it) this year. Good luck to the team you are rooting for! Have a great Sunday!

Resting...

Hi Folks! I'm taking a rest from this busy day swimming in the bay at Blackie's Pasture, one of my fave places to go with my dad. I'm resting because tomorrow morning, my peeps are taking me to the Cow Palace (what's that?) for a huge, but fun-show obedience workshop. I know I need to nap a bit, because my brain gets fried when I have to do those heeling patterns and my mom's still such a rookie! We'll take some pix tomorrow and let you know how it goes. Meanwhile, I'm watching the Eukanuba dog show and just cheered for the golden that came in second in sporting dogs - awesome! Happy Saturday doggies and cats and all!

Another Post! (So Soon?)

Hi and Happy Monday! For me, Mondays mean obedience. Here are some pictures of me doing what my mom's tried to teach me (with the help of Barbara, the teacher who I have a crush on) for the past year and a half! Can you believe it's taken me so long to get ready to go for my CD? Well, to make up for it, I passed my Canine Good Citizenship test after 3 months, so I don't feel too awfully bad. My mom had to learn as much (I think MORE!) than me! I'm so smart! Here are a couple of photos. I have a fun match on Sunday at the Cow Palace and then the shows will be for real (suck in breath!).

Fun and Games With My Friend, Terra!

Hey there! Here I am (far side) with my friend, Terra, and with my Mompeep. Terra really wants my kong bad arrrfffffgrrr!

On the way to the water hole, Terra spied a squirrel and freaked out! Yikes! So did I, but Dadpeep didn't get a picture of me, of course! We kept on fetching the kongs our peeps threw at us and we were FAST! Peeps couldn't keep up with us! When I get MY kong, I put my nose under the water and then played with it a little, just-you know - to make sure it was DEAD! I shook it a bit and then returned it to my mom or dad to throw it again (for me, of course - not for Terra, although she gets it sometimes - hah hah hah - pant).

We raced to grab those kongs and let me tell you - the pebbles are slippery and hurt our feet, but it was sure fun! Even more fun than the mud puddle I found at McInnis! I love Marinwood and I also love playing with Terra!

I've taken a little vacay and discovered a new trick. Happy New Year to you all, by the way. I've discovered a cool new trick for 2009. I bet Mom and Dad are really proud of me for thinking this one up. After chasing after my kong and other dogs at McInnis Park yesterday, Mom, as always, said, "Okay - go get water!" So I started off towards the water pump, where there's a bucketfull of cold, clean water, but this mud puddle caught my eye. I brought my kong, splashed around in this tiny "pond," and then laid down in its cool muddiness - ummmmmm. Mom looked horrified and then laughed and laughed. A friend caught me in a bad picture with her cell phone and sent it off to Mom. Here it is! Thanks a heap, Rory! I guess you all know where Mom took me next. Yup. Pet Express' dog wash, where I got the royal spa treatment - grooming and all. I hope it rains again soon at McInnis. Very cool discovery I think I made, if I do say so myself! Next time, I'll get pictures of my bath routine. Love you all - woof, woof!
